My love for design started at a very young age growing up in the 80’s in Boca Raton, Fl. As a child, I was always around art, fashion and interior design.
My mother was a self taught and highly skilled interior designer with the most incredible eye for style. I learned so much from watching the way she looked at a room and the way she would restyle it. Our home was always being curated and reimagined by my mother Ellen. My early interior design influence was very postmodern 80’s with a lot of Art Deco influence due to the time period and my childhood proximity to Miami Beach.
My father Stuart was a well known swimwear designer who taught himself to sew. Growing up immersed in his creativity and eye for fashion design, I fell in love with color, patterns, and fabric. We would drive to South Miami and go to the huge warehouses where thousands of imported bolts of fabric were housed and we’d comb through them for hours together.
My approach to interiors and the people who live in them, comes from a family history of being able to see the world with style in mind and also being raised by incredibly creative, empathetic, imaginative humans. What I do is quite unique in that you don’t have to purchase a single item if you don’t want to, I will “shop” your house for items to use and I will reimagine what you have, to accomplish both form and function.
When I meet a client, I want to know what is working and what is not. I ask their style and if they aren’t sure, I help them have fun with it and choose one that suites them best. I want to know their vision and I offer mine when asked. Moving furniture and creating flow is so important in every space, so that is tackled right away if need be. Then I shop their home for items I can use for decor or things that can be reimagined. I will also source items such as area rugs, art, decor and furniture if needed. I am a mixed media artist myself so art in the home is imperative to me and I strongly encourage that my clients express themselves through their own art or by finding artwork that speaks to them.
I offer my services in a package I named The S.A.M. Edit, Stylish, Authentic, Mindful. Three words that not only make up the acronym for my name but truly represent me and my vision. The S.A.M. edit uses a holistic approach targeted to simplify your space and amplify your style. By decluttering, organizing and redesigning your current furniture & decor, your space will be stunningly curated, functional and a space you can truly enjoy your life in.
